Mission Projects

Your choice
of the type of ministry, church and island community. (Refer to the mission projects below)
:

There are 135 churches on the island. Most are located in the fishing villages.

Church & House Remodel / Repair

What is involved?

  • Painting buildings, interior walls & furniture
  • Installing & repairing electrical lights, signs, concrete & wooden walls, bath & plumbing fixtures,
    & laying tile floors
  • Cleaning (trash, trees, bushes, and undergrowth)
  • Repairing & constructing interior walls
  • Repairing concrete walls
  • Repairing & installing windows & doors
  • New roofs & composition roofing

Part of the responsibility of a construction or remodel mission project is raising the money for needed construction materials. The amount of monies needed varies according to the size of the project you select. The monies needed for those materials need to be sent to the assigned Bahamian church 90 days prior to your arrival.

The construction and community service projects vary both in size and the amount of dollars needed for materials.

Church & House Construction

What is involved?

  • Concrete block walls
  • Tile & shingle roofs
  • Cement floors & walls
  • Trusses & interior walls
  • Electrical & plumbing installation

Part of the responsibility of a construction or remodel mission project is raising the money for needed construction materials. The amount of monies needed varies according to the size of the project you select. The monies needed for those materials need to be sent to the assigned Bahamian church 90 days prior to your arrival.

Children's Crusades

The greatest challenge the island offers is the opportunity to direct a children’s crusade (similar to a US Vacation Bible School program). Most of the island churches do not have the buildings to hold a large number of children. Much of your crusade will conducted out of doors. We will assist you with the following:

  • Selection of the churches and crusade site *Training materials
  • Suggested programs *Suggested schedule & itinerary
  • Materials & supplies needed

Youth Crusades / Sports Camps

This crusade will be conducted in the same manner as the children’s crusade, with the materials adapted to teenagers. The same programming that works with your youth in the States will appeal to the Bahamian teens. Since most teens have a day job, we would tailor your times to best suit the area in which you are going to serve. There is a need for youth training. Select your own materials.

Concerts & Musical Presentations

Those teams that have a choir, orchestra or ensemble with praise band can have a week of ministry through music! The Bahamas is an island of music! I would suggest you have some high energy music that is of good quality. We will schedule your concert tour. There is no problem getting into churches, schools, jails, and public parks and outdoor stages. If this is your ministry … GO FOR IT!!! It will be very rewarding!

Athletic Events

The typical sports on the island are soccer, basketball, rugby and baseball. If you have a coach that teaches and would like to do clinics, that would be much appreciated. If you have a team (guys or gals), we will schedule you with an island tournament. Special transportation would have to be arranged since your daily schedule would vary as to times and locations of the tournaments.
